JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Baptist Health has brought two Jacksonville pediatric practices into its system, adding offices in Jacksonville Beach and on the Southside to the network tied to Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
The two offices, previously run by Pediatric Care Centers, became part of Baptist Health on Nov. 1. The beach office is now called Baptist Jacksonville Beach Pediatrics, and the other is now Baptist Southside Pediatrics.
Patients do not have to move. The same care teams are staying put. The beach practice is at 274 Third Ave. S., and the Southside practice is at 8990 RG Skinner Parkway.
Not every Pediatric Care Centers office is part of the deal. The Fleming Island location stays with Pediatric Care Centers, which belongs to Privia Medical Group, a unit of Privia Health in Alexandria, Va.
Eric Fletcher, the health system’s executive vice president and chief strategy officer, said the goal is to make it easier for families to move from a neighborhood pediatrician to the specialists at Wolfson when a child needs more care. The system described the addition as part of a broader push to link outpatient children’s care in Northeast Florida with its hospital services.
Families can reach the Jacksonville Beach office at 904.249.3373 and the Southside office at 904.519.6555.
Wolfson Children’s Hospital is the only full-service hospital for children in the region, and the health system said tying community practices to it should give families more coordinated care as a child’s needs change over time.
Baptist Health, a not-for-profit system based in Jacksonville, runs six acute care hospitals and more than 200 outpatient locations across the region.
