Jacksonville, Florida – The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has unveiled the playoffs bracket for girls volleyball, releasing the updated seedings on October 18. The postseason is set to culminate with the final four tournament scheduled for next month in Winter Haven.
In Region 1-1A, Harvest Community has distinguished itself as the only top seed from Northeast Florida with an overall record of 18-9, granting them home court advantage throughout the regional rounds. This strong seeding reflects the team’s consistent performance this season as they aim for a successful playoff run.
However, not all local teams have fared as well. Fletcher, with an impressive record of 24-4, narrowly missed the playoffs, falling short by just 0.298 points. This marks the third occasion in seven years in which the Senators have been eliminated based solely on rankings, highlighting the competitiveness of this year’s playoff selections. The FHSAA applied its formula to award four at-large berths per region and class for Classes 1A through 7A, alongside district champions to determine the playoff teams.
A recent miscalculation in the playoff brackets initially labeled Madison County as the second at-large qualifier in Region 3-Rural. This error has since been corrected, with Union County now properly recognized for that slot. The volleyball postseason will kick off with matches for Classes 1A through 3A beginning on October 21, followed by Classes 4A through 7A on October 22, and the Rural class starting on October 25.
