Jacksonville – The Jacksonville Women’s Golf team secured a 10th place finish at the 2025 Pirate Collegiate Classic, which took place at Greenville Country Club. The team concluded the tournament with an overall score of +33, recording scores of 303 in the first round, 295 in the second, and 299 in the final round.

Erin Marcelino emerged as the standout performer for Jacksonville, ending Round One at even par. After starting with an early two-over score, she successfully bounced back to finish strong. Issy Hopkins and Hannah Lowery also had commendable performances, with both players shooting in the 70s during Monday morning’s play. Together, the trio contributed to a solid first round, finishing one over on the back nine.

Round Two saw the team get off to an impressive start, gathering a total of seven birdies in the initial four holes. Hannah Lowery was particularly impressive, achieving three birdies and one eagle before the turn, ultimately concluding that round with a score of 70, which tied for the fifth-best score overall. Bretton Mackiewicz also made strides, scoring a three-over par 75 in Round Two, marking her best performance of the tournament. Additionally, Alexis Rieli recorded a five-over 77, her best score of the season.

Jacksonville’s performance during Round Two showed clear improvement, as the team finished with a combined score of +7, their best single-round performance of the season. This push allowed them to move up to ninth place heading into Round Three.

In the final round, all four scoring members showed consistency, finishing either even par or one over par through the first nine holes, successfully recording eight birdies in the process. Jacksonville wrapped up the tournament with a score of +11 in Round Three, with individual scores of 74, 75, 75, and 75.
