Round One: A Tough Start Against Ball State
The first round was a rocky one for the Panthers, who went head-to-head with Ball State and ultimately ended up on the losing side of a 4.5-1.5 scoreline. The team certainly encountered some obstacles along the way. But there was a shining light in the way of Anna Nacos, who brought home a notable victory by defeating Sophie Korthujis 2&1, finishing with a solid score of 79 (+10) over 17 holes.
Also putting in a solid performance was Anna Jensen, who managed to tie her match against JJ Gregston, with a remarkable +2 (74), turning out to be the best individual round for any Panther in that match. Unfortunately, not all of the outcomes were favorable. Victoria Hualde faced a tough opponent in Sarah Gallagher, conceding her match 6&5 after only finishing 13 holes with a score of +7 (60).
Freshman Isabella Pettersen had a rough outing, losing her match one down, while McKenna Mallow put up a fight but ultimately fell 3&2 after 16 holes, finishing with a +6 (71). Rylie Driskell also had her struggles, falling 5&4 in her match.
