Sarasota, Florida – The community is coming together to celebrate the vibrant life of Joanne DiCarlo, who passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, service, and countless memories. Born on October 22, 1941, in South Euclid, Ohio, Joanne was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Rita Gillich, and her journey took her through various seasons of life, all rich in connection and warmth.
Graduating from Regina High School in Cleveland in 1959, Joanne’s early life was characterized by her joyful spirit and determination. In April 1960, she married the love of her life, Don DiCarlo, marking the start of a partnership that would last for 43 years. After a brief stint in Philadelphia, the couple moved to St. Charles, Missouri, where they opened their hearts and home to two adopted children. Family has always been at the heart of Joanne’s life.
By 1987, a new chapter began as the DiCarlos relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, due to Don’s career. Life in the Sunshine State brought new adventures, leading them to retire in Venice before eventually settling in Bradenton and finally Sarasota, where Joanne chose to be closer to her daughter in her later years.
