Jacksonville, Florida will be welcoming its first Raising Cane’s restaurant on July 15, 2025. This fast-food establishment is located at 8308 Merchants Way on the city’s Westside, marking the chain’s expansion into Northeast Florida.

The grand opening will kick off at 10 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m.. The event is expected to attract a large crowd, as several promotions will be offered. Notably, a “Lucky 20” drawing will reward 20 customers aged 13 and older with free Cane’s meals for one year. Additionally, the first 100 customers who purchase a combo meal will receive a commemorative hat and a free box combo card for a future visit.

The Jacksonville location boasts a spacious 3,457-square-foot interior featuring artwork that draws inspiration from the local culture and landmarks, including Jacksonville University and the St. Johns River. Customers can enjoy outdoor patio seating and will also find a dual drive-thru designed to enhance convenience.

The estimated cost of developing the new restaurant is around $1.35 million, and Raising Cane’s has ambitious plans to open a total of at least four locations in the Northeast Florida area. Proposed future locations include two existing sites of former Pollo Tropical restaurants: one at 4863 Gate Parkway in St. Johns Town Center and the other at 730 Skymarks Drive in River City Marketplace.

Operations at the Jacksonville branch will run from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, extending to 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The company also aims to hire over 150 crew members for the new restaurant to support its operations.

Founded in 1996 by Todd Graves in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Raising Cane’s specializes in a streamlined menu primarily centered around its famous fried chicken fingers, complemented by its signature Cane’s Sauce, a secret recipe known only to the restaurant’s managers. The company’s unique concept was inspired by Graves’ yellow Labrador Retriever, Raising Cane.

The nearest existing Raising Cane’s locations are found in Gainesville, Florida. The arrival of this new restaurant is expected to satisfy local appetites for high-quality chicken fingers, which have become a hallmark of the chain’s reputation, and to contribute positively to the community with job opportunities and culinary options.
