Northeast Florida will experience a vibrant celebration of 80s music and other events this weekend, beginning with Rick Springfield’s ‘I Want My 80s’ tour on Thursday, May 29, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The concert will begin at 6:30 pm and features special guests John Waite, Wang Chung, and John Cafferty. This event marks the start of a series of exciting activities in the area.
On Friday, May 30, the Jacksonville Symphony will pay tribute to the iconic Olivia Newton-John, performing her beloved hits at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts – Jacoby Hall, with shows starting at 7:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday. This concert promises to be a highlight of the weekend, bringing nostalgia and live music to avid fans.
In addition to the concert, there are various events planned for Thursday and Friday. On May 29, attendees can enjoy “Untold Stories: Trail” at the Florida Theatre at 7:30 pm or catch Tyler Childers with his On The Road tour at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, starting at 7:45 pm. Other Saturday highlights include the Heather Loveland Dance Academy’s 11th Annual Spring Concert at the Florida Theatre at 7:00 pm, showcasing the talent of young dancers. A Brush With Nature will be held at the Jacksonville Arboretum from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing visitors to explore the natural beauty of the area. Looking ahead to Monday, June 2, music lovers can look forward to Styx with Kevin Cronin and Don Felder on The Brotherhood of Rock Tour at Daily’s Place, beginning at 6:45 pm.
