Jacksonville Launches Investigation into Business Robbery

An investigation is currently underway in Jacksonville following a business robbery that took place on Saturday on the city’s Northside. The incident occurred just before noon on the 100 block of Busch Drive, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) were alerted to the robbery around 11:50 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a suspect had demanded money from a business representative. Although the representative complied with the suspect’s request for cash, the specific amount that was stolen remains unclear. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, and it has been reported that the suspect did not display a weapon.

Suspect Description and Escape

The suspect involved in the robbery is described as an adult white man in his 30s, with a distinct “reddish” auburn beard. He is estimated to be between 5’8” to 5’9” tall and was seen wearing a ball cap paired with a green shirt at the time of the robbery.

Following the crime, a white Honda, which was driven by an individual resembling the suspect’s description, fled the scene. This vehicle was later located and the driver was detained by authorities for questioning. JSO is currently working to determine the level of involvement of this individual in the robbery.

No Ongoing Threat to the Community

Regarding community safety, JSO officials have stated that there does not appear to be any immediate threat to the public stemming from this incident. The ongoing investigation aims to gather more details to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the robbery and the suspect’s escape.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone who may have additional information regarding the robbery to come forward. Individuals can reach out directly to JSO by calling 904-630-0500, by emailing JSOcrimetips@jaxsheriff.org, or by contacting the Crime Stoppers hotline at 866-845-TIPS.
