Jacksonville – Taylor Sign & Design Inc. has announced plans to install new signage for Acosta Group and Dark Matter Technologies at the former McKesson building, located at 6651 Gate Parkway in Jacksonville. Acosta Group, which has recently become the anchor tenant of the building, will have the largest sign prominently placed on the west-facing side, while Dark Matter Technologies will have a smaller sign representing its presence on the fourth floor.
The city of Jacksonville is currently reviewing the permit application submitted by Taylor Sign & Design Inc. for the installation of these signs. The installations are expected to significantly increase visibility for Acosta Group within the local community, as stated by the company’s Executive Vice President, Mike Smith.
Acosta Group, a 98-year-old leader in marketing, retailing, and brand placement, has notably relocated its global headquarters from Southpoint to the new location at Southside Quarter, ideally positioned near Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295. This move, to a smaller yet more modern facility, allows Acosta to better support its expanding operations while enhancing its presence in the area.
The company occupies 60,204 square feet on the first and second floors of the 125,532-square-foot building, and it is currently preparing for a grand opening event following the completion of ongoing renovations, with LAY Construction serving as the contractor for this project. The new facility is designed to house Acosta’s 250 Jacksonville-based employees and attract additional talent, thanks to its central location and array of amenities.
In tandem with Acosta’s announcement, Dark Matter Technologies, a recently formed mortgage technology company that evolved from Black Knight, has moved its headquarters to the top floor of the same building. Dark Matter Technologies revealed a managerial transition, with Sean Dugan set to take over as CEO from Rich Gagliano in April 2025. Gagliano, the founder of Dark Matter, will continue to provide leadership as executive chairman.
The McKesson building, originally developed in 2019 for McKesson Corp., has seen a change in occupancy following the company’s departure, which industry experts speculate was influenced by shifting work patterns due to the pandemic. Real estate firm CBRE, which is handling the property’s sublease, describes the building as a “trophy building,” highlighting its desirable features and appeal to prospective tenants.
With Acosta Group now in occupancy, the former McKesson building appears fully leased, reinforcing its status in the Jacksonville market. In addition to Acosta, the city recently approved a permit for renovations on the third floor, which will encompass 25,596 square feet of space for Selene Finance. Dark Matter Technologies’ establishment within this prominent location adds to the growing technology sector in Jacksonville and is indicative of the ongoing changes in the commercial real estate landscape.
As of mid-July, the Acosta Group name is anticipated to be installed on the building, marking a new chapter for both the company and the location. Acosta Group currently employs around 60,000 staff across North America, the UK, and other locations dictated by client demands.
This significant influx of corporate tenants marks a hopeful trend for Jacksonville’s commercial property landscape as businesses adapt to post-pandemic realities while contributing to local economic growth.
