Jacksonville, FL – To celebrate 25 years of excellence in high school softball, the Times-Union has announced a distinguished All-Quarter Century high school softball team consisting of 20 standout players from Jacksonville and the surrounding Northeast Florida area. This selection honors All-First Coast honorees spanning from the 2000-01 season through the 2024-25 season, illustrating the immense talent fostered in local high schools.

The team features celebrated athletes like Michelle Moultrie, an Olympian who secured a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, alongside various other players who have made significant impacts on their respective teams and communities. The selected players represent high schools from a wide geographical range, including Green Cove Springs, Ponte Vedra Beach, and Callahan, showcasing the depth of talent across the region.

Highlighted Players and Their Achievements

Among the notable selections is Brosky, who played from 2000 to 2003. Her exceptional performance included setting Florida’s single-season strikeout record with 471 strikeouts in 2003. With a stellar record of 23 wins and 5 losses, along with a minuscule 0.15 ERA, she struck out a total of 1,002 batters during her high school career. After high school, Brosky played at Seminole Community College and later at the University of North Florida.

Blue Devils, another All-Quarter Century honoree from 1998 to 2001, led her team to the area’s inaugural fast-pitch FHSAA championship in 2001. Her outstanding senior year featured a record of 20 wins and 2 losses, a 0.63 ERA, and a .456 batting average, along with 190 strikeouts.

Schuppert, who played from 2006 to 2009, stands out as the only player in the area to earn the Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Softball title. She contributed significantly to Fletcher’s state runner-up finish with an impressive 31-1 record during her senior year.

Knights, another incredible talent from 2014 to 2017, was honored as a two-time All-First Coast player of the year and led her team to the first Class 8A trophy in 2017. Her pitching made a notable mark in the region.

In addition, Kennedy, from 2014 to 2017, helped Baker County secure its first FHSAA championship trophy in 2015 and set a school record with 32 home runs throughout her career.

Players like Kvistad and Davenport also made an impact, with Kvistad leading the Lake City Tigers to the FHSAA Class 6A championship in 2013, hitting a total of 44 home runs during her four years. Davenport earned All-First Coast honors three times and had a stellar senior season batting .551.

Moultrie, an integral player during her high school years from 2005 to 2008 at Mandarin, helped her team reach the state semifinals, setting a school record with a .443 batting average in 2011. Jones, who played from 2019 to 2024, achieved career batting averages of .484, striking out 1,029 batters and maintaining an impressive 0.99 ERA during her time on the mound.

Also recognized is Kardatzke, who won player of the year in 2023. She contributed to her team’s first state title and boasted impressive statistics throughout her career. Lawrence secured recognition as a three-time All-First Coast player of the year between 2003 and 2006, achieving an ERA as low as 0.20 in her senior year.

Other players like Ross, who helped Trinity win its first state trophy in 2019, are also celebrated for their significant contributions to high school softball in the region.

The selection of the All-First Coast team involved a combination of nominations from coaches, performance evaluations by the sports staff at the Times-Union, and statistical analysis. This team aims not only to recognize the exemplary achievements of past players but also to inspire current and future athletes in high school softball.
