The soft opening is set for January, with a grand opening in February. Morning Oil Coffee also plans to introduce initiatives to assist skilled tradespeople and host community events.

Jacksonville’s Morning Oil Coffee to Open Community-Focused Coffee Yard

Jacksonville, Florida – Morning Oil Coffee is set to open a new coffee yard at 700 East Union Street, Unit 151, inside The Workhouse, a historic 1912 former grocery depot being redeveloped into a mixed-use community hub. The soft opening is scheduled for January 1, with a grand opening on February 1.

Community-Centric Concept

The coffee yard is designed specifically for tradespeople and the working community, focusing on traditional coffee offerings such as lattes, cappuccinos, drip coffee, and espresso made from directly sourced Guatemalan beans. The menu will also feature hearty breakfast items, substantial lunch offerings, and pre-ordered sack lunches ready for pickup on the way to job sites. Every Monday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., Morning Oil Coffee will serve free coffee for crews holding their morning safety meetings.

Expansion Plans

As the brand grows, the team plans to add limited evening hours featuring beer and wine, contractor meetups, and storytelling nights. A concept inspired by owner Phil Rogacki’s podcast, Two Tree Guys.

Supporting the Trades Community

Owner Phil Rogacki founded Morning Oil Coffee in response to the looming shortage of skilled tradespeople nationwide. With a significant portion of the workforce nearing retirement and fewer young people entering trades, the company aims to help close that gap through The New Boots Project, a nonprofit that provides new boots to individuals entering trade apprenticeships.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Morning Oil Coffee is collaborating with local organizations involved in workforce development, including the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, state judges, re-entry programs, and the Baselli Foundation, led by Tony Boselli.

About the Owner

Phil Rogacki, the owner of Morning Oil Coffee, traveled to Guatemala to learn directly from coffee farmers, stay with their families, and understand the process behind their award-winning beans. The concept is built around pride in the trades, community, and supporting people who keep critical infrastructure running.

Operating Hours
