Delray Beach, Florida, Says Goodbye to a Remarkable Centenarian

February 10, 2025, will forever be a date to remember, as the community of Delray Beach mourns the loss of a truly remarkable individual, Beverlee A. Mulligan. The beloved centenarian passed away peacefully at the age of 100, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and community spirit.

A Life Well Lived

Beverlee was born on December 28, 1924, in the charming town of Sidney, Montana, to Joseph and Ann (Schweich) Schmitz. She was a proud member of the Class of 1942 from Teton County High School in Choteau, Montana. After graduation, she married her soulmate, Arthur F. Mulligan, on a beautiful autumn day, October 14, 1947, in Great Falls, Montana. Their love story spanned an incredible 68 years of marriage until Arthur’s passing.

Together, Beverlee and Arthur built a family business, Arthur F. Mulligan, Inc. and Arrow Bus Line, Inc., where they both worked tirelessly for nearly 49 years. Beverlee finally hung up her business hat when she retired in 1996, but her life’s work didn’t stop there.

A Heart for Community

Beverlee’s contributions to her communities were nothing short of inspiring. She was an active member of St. Peter’s RC Church in Rosendale, New York, and later became a cherished parishioner of Ascension RC Church in Boca Raton, Florida. Her leadership skills shone brightly when she served as the past President of the Women’s Club of Rosendale and as a founding member of the Rosendale Library Board of Trustees.

With a passion for helping others, Beverlee dedicated her time to the Benedictine Health Foundation’s Board as well as becoming an active member of Zonta International. Even her love for golf was shared with others as she participated in the Delray Beach Ladies Golf League until she decided to retire from the sport at the age of 91.

A Loving Family Behind Her

Beverlee leaves behind a close-knit family who cherished her deeply. She is survived by her three beloved children: Gary Mulligan (and wife Sally Goffredi) of Kingston, NY, Pamela of Delray Beach, FL, and Barbara Focht (and husband Gil) of Jacksonville, FL. Her legacy continues with her sister Jacqueline Flint of Chico, CA, and her grandchildren: Colette Dispinseri, Kristina TenEyck, Mark TenEyck, and Stephen Salvino Jr., along with six great-grandchildren who adored their matriarch.

Though Beverlee faced the heartbreak of losing her husband, parents, and several siblings along her journey, she remained a pillar of strength and love for her family.

Celebrating a Life of Service

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service in Kingston, NY. Family and friends are invited to visit on February 19, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Kingston on February 20, 2025, at 11 AM. Beverlee will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Coeymans, NY, on February 21, 2025, at 11 AM.

In memory of Beverlee’s unwavering commitment to helping others, the family invites memorial donations to be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, St. Peter’s Church in Rosendale, NY, or St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston, NY.

While the world has lost a magnificent centenarian, Beverlee A. Mulligan’s spirit and contributions will remain alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
