The Austin Peay State University women’s golf team is set to compete in the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida, showcasing their talents against tough rivals. Key players Erica Scutt and Jillian Breedlove are leading the charge with stellar performance records. Jacksonville, Florida – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf team is swinging into action this week at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate, taking place at the scenic Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. This thrilling event is set for Monday and Tuesday, and fans are buzzing with excitement to see how the team performs!
Competing in this tournament, APSU will be lining up against familiar faces from the Atlantic Sun Conference, including rivals Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, and North Florida. With a total of 16 teams and 87 players in the mix, the competition is sure to be fierce. Set against a backdrop of palm trees and pristine greens, the course boasts a par of 72 and stretches a challenging 6,266 yards.
The Governors are eager to showcase their talents, and leading the charge is none other than Erica Scutt. With an impressive scoring average of 73.64, she’s proven herself to be a dominant force this season. Notably, Scutt has already recorded five rounds at even par or under, and she holds a remarkable 14 counting scores out of 14 rounds played. Talk about consistent performance!
But Scutt isn’t the only player to watch. Jillian Breedlove is hot on her heels, also with a scoring average of 73.64. Recently, she set a career milestone by posting a career-low 54-hole score of 210 at the prestigious Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii. During that same event, Breedlove achieved an impressive round of 68, leading the team to have one round in the 60s this season. It’s safe to say both Scutt and Breedlove are primed to thrive in Jacksonville!
Following closely behind, Maggie Glass brings her own stellar performance with a scoring average of 76.57, highlighted by two rounds at even par or under. Her teammate, Kaley Campbell, has also shown promise with a scoring average of 77.79, matching Glass with two rounds at even par or under. Finally, rounding out the lineup, Abby Hirtzel boasts a scoring average of 77.57, including one round at even or under par. Together, this quintet brings a mix of talent and determination that fans can’t wait to see on the green!
As the players gear up for the tournament, APSU will be paired with Arkansas State, Daytona State College, and Eastern Kentucky for the first two rounds.
