JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Duval County voters can start casting ballots in person Tuesday, when early voting for the Nov. 3 general election opens at 24 sites around Jacksonville. Any registered voter in the county may use any of the sites, and early voting continues through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Hours shift over the two weeks. Sites are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday this week, then 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. From Oct. 26 to Oct. 30 the polls stay open longer, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., before closing out with 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours on the final weekend.
Two new locations serve District 10, which went through the biggest precinct consolidation in the county in 2024: one at Edward Waters University and one at the Dallas Graham Branch Library on Myrtle Avenue North. The main elections office at 105 E. Monroe St. downtown is also on the list.
Voters need a current photo ID that shows a signature. Anyone whose photo ID lacks a signature must bring a second ID with one, and a voter with no ID at all can still cast a provisional ballot that election officials will review. Requests for a mail ballot are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and voters holding a completed mail ballot may leave it at any of the early voting locations.
Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland expects turnout of at least 65%. The city has roughly 655,000 registered voters, and some 13,000 of them had already voted by mail before the polls opened. The ballot includes the race for governor between Republican Byron Donalds and Democrat David Jolly, a U.S. Senate special election between Sen. Ashley Moody and state Rep. Angie Nixon of Jacksonville, and property tax amendment and referendum questions. Neighboring St. Johns County opens early voting Wednesday and Clay County on Friday.
