His vehicle collided with the left rear of a pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old man, who was traveling westbound on SR-16. Following the initial collision, the 18-year-old continued driving against traffic and subsequently crashed head-on into another pickup truck operated by a 21-year-old from Jacksonville.

Regrettably, the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The 21-year-old driver of the second pickup truck was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, the 38-year-old driver of the first pickup truck involved in the crash was not injured.
