Orange Park, Florida – Donna Jean (Horton) Messer, a cherished family member and resident of Orange Park, passed away peacefully at her home on October 7, 2025, at the age of 67. Her loss is mourned by her family and friends who remember her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Born on September 12, 1958, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Donna was the daughter of Doris (Zeger) Horton and Donald Horton. She is survived by her loving husband, Randall S. Messer, and their children. Donna raised three sons: Ryan L. Martin, Randall S. Messer Jr., and Ricky R. (Lauren) Messer, along with two daughters, Heather R. Scherzer and Valle R. Martin. She also enjoyed the joy of being a grandmother to seven grandchildren: Anthony Scherzer, Ricky Messer Jr., Camron Messer, Jordon Messer, Leila Messer, Ryan Martin Jr., and Kendall Martin.
Donna also had a close-knit family, which included her sister, Laurie (Gary) Stopyra, and two brothers, David (Sydney) Rubeck and Larry (Susie) Rubeck. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Horton; mother, Doris Horton; two sisters, Sherry Rubeck and Cathy Horton; and one brother, Stephen Horton.
