Loys was born on October 17, 1970, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Caroline Hewes Charbonnet and the late Loys Charbonnet, III. He is survived by his mother, Caroline, and his sister, Caroline Helen Charbonnet. Additionally, he leaves behind extended family, including his Aunt Cynthia Hewes Speetjens and Uncle Gaston Hewes in Mississippi and Louisiana, respectively, as well as Aunt Jan Charbonnet Crocker in Virginia.
After living in Jacksonville until the age of six, Loys moved to Miami, where he became a cherished member of the Casterline Group Home. The home provided comprehensive care and support to Loys throughout his life. He received assistance from many dedicated caregivers, including Sharell Mike, Kai, Lillian, Charlotte, Renee, Geraline, Donna, E Price, Tee Tee, Eljin, Chris Gaviria, and Sherell Daniels, as well as the late Patty Casterline and her mother.
The support provided by Vitas Hospice in Broward and Dade counties has been highlighted as outstanding and comforting, ensuring his final days were filled with compassion and dignity. Loys also kept special friends in Jacksonville, such as Pat Setzer and Thelma Brown, who enriched his life, along with the late Mildred Eason. In his last year, he found particular comfort and support from Robbie Howell.
