Community Spotlight: Eagle Scout Recognition
In addition to the luncheon excitement, there’s a proud moment worth mentioning in the community! On Sept. 22, 2025, Troop 280 celebrated Scout Nathan Lough for achieving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award during a special Court of Honor ceremony. Nathan has shown incredible dedication by earning 13 Eagle required and nine elective merit badges and camping for an impressive 37 nights. He also organized jazz concerts to benefit seniors at Westminster Woods for his service project. Talk about making a difference!
Amazon’s Growing Presence in Jacksonville
On another note, Jacksonville continues to shine as a hub for economic growth. With 10 Amazon facilities already operating and an 11th in the works, the company has made significant investments in our community. Employing around 8,000 people, Jacksonville boasts Amazon’s largest presence in Florida. Across the state, the company employs a whopping 52,000 people and has invested an astonishing $38 billion!
City Incentives for Growth
Thanks to city support amounting to $26.7 million in incentives, aimed at creating over 2,700 jobs since the opening of Amazon’s first fulfillment centers in 2017, Jacksonville is expected to see continued growth. From sorting centers to a heavy bulk freight center, the area is bustling with excitement and innovation. A whopping $16.6 million build-out of a new distribution center at the Commonwealth Logistics Center is currently under review as well!
So, whether you’re ready to boogie at the luncheon or looking forward to the continued expansion of your hometown, it’s clear that Jacksonville is buzzing with energy. Be a part of the fun on October 21, and let’s celebrate our strong community together!
