Jacksonville – The Jacksonville University College of Law has celebrated impressive results following the recent Bar exam, marking a successful milestone for its inaugural class. Of the 12 graduates who took the state Bar Examination in July 2025, 11 passed, achieving a passage rate of 91.7%. This performance is notably close to the University of Florida Levin College of Law, which reported a pass rate of 92.8%. The Florida Board of Bar Examiners released these results on September 22, 2025.
Among the 12 graduates, one is preparing to take the New York State Bar exam, while the only graduate who did not pass the July exam intends to retake it in February. The College of Law, which began its first class in 2022 with 14 students, is currently home to 134 enrolled students as of August 2025. In 2024, the law school relocated to a new campus located at 121 W. Forsyth St., situated in a historic building, further enhancing its academic environment.
The inaugural commencement ceremony on May 2, 2025, was a significant event, with 13 graduates receiving their juris doctor degrees at the Duval County Courthouse. University officials, leaders from the legal community, and family members attended the ceremony, reinforcing the achievement of these pioneering graduates. The President of Jacksonville University acknowledged this inaugural class as pioneers in the university’s history.
During the ceremony, Senior U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan addressed the graduates, underscoring the essential role lawyers play in upholding the rule of law. The graduates also participated in a mock swearing-in conducted by Judge Corrigan, a symbolic tradition for those entering the practice of law. The Vice Dean of the College of Law discussed the importance of the new alumni association within the larger alumni network of over 40,000 individuals associated with Jacksonville University.
As part of their education, graduates completed pro bono work, a program strongly encouraged by the founding Dean. This commitment to community service aligns with the law school’s mission of developing capable and civic-minded attorneys. In recognition of outstanding contributions, Randi Victoria Alt, a third-year law student, received the Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne Graduate Student of the Year Award for her leadership and involvement in founding the Student Bar Association, as well as serving as the inaugural editor-in-chief of the Jacksonville University Law Review.
Looking ahead, graduates are now focused on preparing for the Florida Bar Examination, which is slated for July 29-30, 2025. With a strong emphasis on achieving a 100% completion, job placement, and Bar passage rate among all graduates, the Jacksonville University College of Law remains committed to nurturing competent legal professionals in the state of Florida.
