Jacksonville – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is currently investigating four distinct shooting incidents that transpired early Saturday morning, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.

According to reports, the first shooting occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Friday at Fitzgerald Street, where officers discovered a man in his early 20s with fatal gunshot wounds. While several individuals have been detained for questioning regarding this incident, officials have not yet released any further details about the circumstances leading to the shooting or the relationships between those involved.

Following this incident, at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, JSO responded to another shooting on West 11th Street, where they found a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh. Authorities report that after being transported to a local hospital, the injured man is now in stable condition. Initial investigations suggest the shooting may have been tied to a domestic argument, during which a woman is believed to have retrieved a firearm. Both the man and the woman involved in this case are now in custody and are cooperating with law enforcement.

At around 5:45 a.m., JSO patrol officers attended to a shooting incident at a gas station located on West 8th Street. They arrived to find a man in his mid-40s suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his left arm and face. After being rushed to a local hospital, this victim is also reported to be in stable condition. The altercation that led to this shooting reportedly stemmed from an argument with a suspect attempting to enter the victim’s vehicle. The suspect involved in this case is described as approximately 5’9″ to 5’10” tall and wearing a black t-shirt; authorities are actively searching for him.

The last reported shooting occurred at around 9:45 a.m. on Yulee Street, where police found a man in his early 30s with a gunshot wound in his foot. Like the previous victims, he was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be stable. This incident involved a confrontation in the roadway, and investigators noted that the suspect and victim appeared to know one another. As of Saturday evening, the suspect in this incident remains at large.

In light of these violent events, the JSO is urging anyone who may have information pertaining to any of these shootings to come forward. They can be contacted at 904-630-0500 or through email at [email protected]. Additionally, individuals can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS with any relevant tips.

The series of shootings adds to growing concerns about gun violence in the Jacksonville area. With one fatal incident and several others resulting in injuries, local authorities are continuing to evaluate the connections between the suspects and victims while striving to improve community safety.
